As the work week was rolling to a close, I got an email from NYC Midnight about my submission from July 11th. I immediately opened the letter and followed the link to the results. While my stomach churned, I took a few deep breaths and reminded myself that only the top fifteen stories would be listed. After calming my nerves, I found the entry for my group and clicked into it. Scrolling through the list, I found my name and smiled. While it’s impressive to place in this competition, I was a little disappointed that I didn’t place higher.
Fortunately, the results reminded me that the second entry in the challenge was this weekend, so I put everything else on hold and dove into the competition. However, once I finished threw myself into everything else that I missed, including rounding up all the artwork I posted to my DeviantArt galleries, including the first cartoon for Harrison (an exclusive for my patrons and watchers).
