Saving the Show

The crowd clapped with Sebastian's bow, as one cried.
“You're on fire!” Jimmy whirled and searched with care.
“Everyone stand back!” he cried with frightened pride.
He ushered the gathering crowd from side to side.
Sebastian frowned. “Do you see flames anywhere?”
Jimmy scoffed and grabbed a blanket off a chair.
“You’ll fan the blaze if you keep moving round!”
He wrapped his friend despite the puzzled stare.
Sebastian muttered, “Jimmy, I’m fine, I swear!”
“That's what everyone says before they hit the ground.”
Sebastian wrestled free and reached his guitar.
Jimmy lunged. “That'll go up in flames, don't you see?”
He dragged the case away and stowed it under the bar.
“That timber hasn't got a fighting chance this far.”
“There aren't any sparks! Just let me play free!”
Jimmy stopped and looked about with a furrowed brow.
“They're only gone because I've put them out.”
He sniffed the air. “The flames can't fool me now.”
Sebastian shook his head and sighed. “You don't know how.”
Jimmy smiled. “You're welcome. I know what fire's about.”
