Art Roundup, week of May 6th

While I’ve always captured things that make me smile, sometimes I forget about them. Thankfully, images captured by my camera get backed up to the cloud. Though I don’t always het a chanvce to go through the backlog of what I’ve taken. However, on a recent exploration, I found a picture of something I snagged at a previous job. Ub addition to the singular pic from my distant past, I ulled some more recent images of flower beds. If you see any images here that aren’t available on Natural Desygns or SM Desygns reach out to me through the Etsy store and I’ll add the image to the correct store. In the meantime, click any of the images to head over to DeviantArt to get a better look.

Studious Penguin

A couple jobs ago, the office environment was a little lax despite everyone diving headfirst into their work. Office toys were littered across the cubicles providing ample outlets to distract from the hectic hours and frantic work. While I don’t remember where the penguin came from, I do remember that it made several rounds about the office. At one point I remember feuding with a neighbor for ownership of the formal bird.

However, during one of the stints were I added the avian to my collection of stress relievers, I propped a notebook filled with gibberish against a pair of monitors and settled the little fellow in front of the text, pretending he was a studying for an upcoming test. While the details are a little hazy, I want to say I setup that scene in an empty cubicle and the neighbor I was feuding with over the possession of the bird laughed.

I hope you enjoy the juxtaposition.

During the peak of summer, whenever you look outside, you’ll see fields of green. If you’re lucky or know where to find the cultivated flowerbeds, you’ll see wonderful drops of color. In this instance, as I was out and about, I walked past a large flowerbed and I knew I had to capture the sights.

On the other side of the entrance, another field of flowers captured my attention. The collection of simple flowers created a tapestry of beauty ready for me to enjoy.

As I walked back to the parking lot, I looked at one of the building’s expansive flower beds from a different angle. Just to give you an appreciation of the size of these beds, if you look in the upper right corner of the image, you’ll see the trunk of a tree. Granted it’s not a large tree, but the tree was placed in the middle of the bed. If you step back you’ll see a sea of flowers with sole with a sole island at its heart.

If you’re not careful, you’ll miss the simple beauty filling this world. Fortunately, my day job allows me to work from home, something I enjoy greatly. However, there are times when I do have to go into the office, and when I do, I’m typically rushing inside to take care of what I need to before heading back home.

Unfortunately, that means I usually miss out on the cultivated landscape right next to the building’s entrance. Thankfully, during one of my recent trips into the office, I had some time so I studied the flower beds.

Hopefully, you enjoy these vibrant flowers as much as I did.
