It has been far too long since I’ve posted an update to my stories over at WattPad. However, a simple to-do list uncovered extra time buried deep inside my hectic days. And with that discovery, I took hold of those precious minutes and dove into the latest installment in my Mounting Tensions series. Luckily, revisiting the storyline revealed both unexpected progress paired with major holes in the brief story. It’s strange to be ahead and behind, but armed with my to-do list, my overactive imagination, and a determination to resume work on these stories, I completed the final editing rounds to complete the tale while also propelling the larger narrative of the series.
As the door swung into its office, the comforting silence wrapped about Rylan as he hunched over his desk wavered. A handful of seconds later, several soft footfalls thundered through the silent office, yanking Rylan’s attention away from his work. With a soft groan, the weary man tossed the tablet beside a stack of documents. Rylan’s lips spread into a wan grin as he leaned back into the chair, twirling his left hand.
“The first delivery is on the way.” The intruding individual offered a lopsided smile as he paused halfway toward Rylan. “Don’t you ever stop working?”
“Thank you for coming, Darvin.” The weary man gestured at the empty seat across from his desk. “Please sit down.”
“I don’t know about you, but I’m hungry.”
“There are more important matters than your hunger,” Rylan said, gesturing at the empty seat.
The living mountain cleared his throat as he slid into the vacant chair. “Given all the mounting tensions, is it wise to have conversations like this in your office?”
