It’s interesting how certain visuals can transport you to another time and place. There was something undeniably beautiful about the juxtaposition between the long blades of grass and the sandy shore. It was like nature’s own brushstrokes on the canvas of life. Beyond appreciating the beauty, I’ve always enjoyed observing nature. However, capturing it through a lens is still something I’m learning. And whenever I’m recording the sights I see, I’m experimenting with zoom, focus, and composition. If you see any images here that aren’t available on Natural Desygns or SM Desygns reach out to me through the Etsy store and I’ll add the image to the correct store. In the meantime, click any of the images to head over to DeviantArt to get a better look.
I’ve already mentioned the little oases lining Betha; Beach’s shoreline. It made for an interesting dynamic. Particularly, when it came to the long stalks of grass. The last time I’d seen grasses like this, was when I was on a campsite during my days in the Boy Scouts. Granted I’m sure I’ve seen more since then, that particular memory was exceptionally vivid. And no, I don’t plan on delving into why that was such a vivid memory. Again I’m going to lean on the fact that there’s something beautiful when you impose those long strands of grass with a sandy shoreline.
While I love observing nature, I’m still teaching myself how to capture those visuals. As a result, I’m constantly trying new things. Chief among them is playing with the zoom and composition. In this particular case I wanted to focus on the elongated blades of grass while letting the house in the background being fuzzy. It’s amazing what simple changes in perspective can accomplish.
