Safety Check

Two friends walked into a local pub to hear a band play,
As the crowd packed in beneath the pulsing amber light.
Sebastian smiled, “This group brings serious heat today.”
Then Jimmy gasped and dragged his friend a step away.
“No band should make the ceiling shimmer quite this bright.”
Jimmy marched toward the speakers lined beside the wall,
Then slapped the speaker twice and listened with a frown.
Sebastian sighed, “That phrase means nothing hot at all.”
But Jimmy whirled about, “Hot wiring always starts off small.”
Then yanked a dangling cord and dropped the system down.
The singer stopped mid-verse as shrill feedback split the room,
A drummer dropped his sticks and crawled away backstage.
Sebastian groaned, “You’ve turned a single comment into doom.”
Yet Jimmy raised the napkin holder like a broom,
And swung it through the air like an actor gripped by rage.
A worker chased the fire extinguisher Jimmy unsealed,
As it blasted nearby patrons backward from the bar.
Sebastian ducked behind the jukebox half concealed.
While Jimmy proudly cried, “At least the threat’s repealed!”
Then both men left still arguing marching toward their car.
