Art Roundup, week of October 24th

Happy Halloween! I hope everyone can enjoy the day and their jaunt as someone else. Whenever I think about Halloween, the first thing that comes to mind is a Jack-o’-lantern. As a kid, I have fuzzy memories of sitting around the dining room table and carving simple ones with my mother. While we never created anything fancy, it was always a fun time. I hope I’ve captured a perfect image of the holidays...

Tendrils

Fresh off penning Investments and Seconds, I turned my focus on the last piece of flash fiction for the month of October, a Horror. With Halloween looming over me, I turned into the season, searching for inspiration. Thankfully, the imagery of the season is rife with potential choice to latch onto. Despite the plethora of options, my mind had trouble latching onto a single aspect of the holiday...

What’s the saying about best made plans? Or what happens the moment you confront the enemy? Everything goes south. That said, October has been a decent month in the drafting process for Harrison & Sylvia: Conspiracies, I just haven’t finished as much as I originally planned on. As I sit back and crank out the last two Patreon exclusives, I realized just how poor my writing was when I sat down to work on Conspiracies. If I didn’t know any better, I would have assumed the stories were written by someone else...

Art Roundup, week of October 17th

Every time I draw something new, I’m excited about how close I’m getting to my end goal. This week besides my liquified textures, I’m happy to present Grimace. As I progress with my Udemy, I’m able to coax new heights from my fingers. Of course, sometimes those achievements come with multiple passes through the videos. However, when I’m able to create something like Grimace, I have to sit back and smile at my growth...

Seconds

It’s amazing how quickly time marches on. While I’ve completed a decent amount of work for Conspiracies, I’ve allowed myself to steal a few minutes here and there to process my upcoming tales. Unfortunately, over the weekend, I checked my calendar and realized that the month was rapidly coming to a close. With the deadline looming over me, I paused my work on Harrison & Sylvia stories and turned my attention to the Action/Adventure...

Art Roundup, week of October 10th

With the passing of every day, I’ve completed more of Harrison and Sylvia’s story. However, I’ve continued to dedicate some of my time to continue perfecting my craft. This past week I’ve shared with the world a shining example of my growth, Phoenix Flower.

Hunker down in your chair and enjoy the artwork below...

Art Roundup, week of October 3rd

Over the next two months, I’ll be taking a step back from the breakneck pace I’ve been maintaining. During the month of October, I’ll be working on finishing the last draft for Harrison & Sylvia: Conspiracies. I’m hoping to get the first couple of stories to my editor, so I’ll be able to publish them serially starting in January 2022, so stay tuned. When November starts up NaNoWriMo will snatch my attention and I’ll be focusing on another work in progress that I hope to publish next August for my dad’s birthday. With all that said, I’ll continue bringing my artwork to the world and the exclusive content to my patrons...

Art Roundup, week of September 26th

With another week coming to a close, I would like to highlight the artwork I posted over at DeviantArt, specifically Seeping Green Magic and Carved Hand. Both images sprang forth from liquified lines, and after a little guidance, the doodles snapped into focus...

Faulty Defense

With Deceptions and Selection published to my patrons, I focused my attention on the last piece of flash fiction for September, a Historical Fiction. While I’ve jumped around in history for these prompts, my favorite character is Samuel and his dragon mount Pearl. From the initial story, I’ve enjoyed blurring the history of the late 1870s with dragons and sorcery...

Selection

After finishing up Deceptions, and the month rapidly ending, I paused my Wattpad stories and focused on my Patreon exclusives. Unfortunately, I didn’t have an idea for the story, so I headed over to NYC Midnight and searched through the prompts selecting a random one for drama. When I looked at the result, I immediately wanted to toss it out for a different location and object. However, fresh off the second entry of NYC Midnight, I kept the prompt, and I thought about what kind of story to tell...

When I wrote Dueling Students, I didn’t think that brief magical combat would spark a deeper dive into the Academy’s history. Thankfully, inspiration circled back, pulling Aiden from the depths of my mind. During Aiden’s last tale, I focused on a conversation with him and his friend. Aiden pleaded with Daylen to join him for extra classes with Imryll...

Art Roundup, week of September 19th

As another week comes to a close, I posted more artwork to bring more artwork to DeviantArt. And there are a couple of pieces that I would like to highlight. Shambling Mound and Blowback are my two favorite pictures that I drew and brought to the world...

Deceptions

After pulling the results of September’s genre poll, it took me a while before I could carve out some time to write my first piece of flash fiction. The first genre on my current list was a Crime Caper, and I dusted off my master thief, Jessica Calhoun. Her last appearance was as a guest in Insight’s Dual. While I haven’t been able to spend as much time developing her character as I would have liked to, I have a good idea of her personality...

Icy Wasteland

Wan moonlight bathed a stocky man’s pale arms as he leaned against the metallic rails, whistling a simple tune.

“Anton, stop making that awful racket!”

The sporadic notes stopped as Anton twisted his head and pushed against the railing. “Norman, the silence is eerie.” Anton marched across the deck and swatted the console. “Why don’t you have a radio or satellite on this boat?”

“You weren’t hired to be entertained...

Ensnared

When I sat down to pull the prompts for September’s Micro Fiction, I wanted to write a horror piece. When I selected the prompt from the list, my mind instantly rushed to fill in the broad strokes for the story. After a little more work, I stumbled into the first draft. From there I churned and finished this narrative, leaning heavily on the horror trope of characters being snatched into a void...
